OTHER:
I teach and perform. I have instructed beginner level classes for various instruments including erhu, pipa, Chinese drums, liuqing, and zhongruan. I perform frequently at events such as Chinese New Year Festivals. I have worked with musicians including professional Iranian musicians, the Stanford Chinese ensemble, professional Chinese musicians, and more. I have also been featured on newsletters and television for my music performances, including the Organization of Chinese Americans Newsletter and ICN news. Through these events, I have had the opportunity to meet prestigious individuals, including some of Beijing's top musicians and California State Senator Leland Yee. Over the past few years, I have built my own musical career. I have been invited to both community and paid performances, and entered numerous international competitions. In addition, I have started a non-profit organization, Vivace Music, to raise money and buy instruments for underprivileged children.
