Introduction
I was introduced to the musical world at the young age of seven. I started with piano, continued for several years, and then I found it. I found my passion for music, and then discovered a whole new culture of music: Chinese traditional instruments. In my proud history of instruments, I've learned piano, guzheng, pipa, zhongruan, erhu, dizi, hulusi, flute, Chinese drums, percussion, drumset, yangqin, zhong hu, gao hu, ban hu, and zhong erhu in respective order. As much as I wish I was still learning all these instruments, I currently am only learning pipa, erhu, zhong hu, gao hu, and ban hu. Music has always been my passion and artistic liberation, and I strive to one day become a professional. I am now an sophomore in college with my dream of exceeding my own musical expectations. You may or may not know me right now, but I hope you someday recognize me for my love for music. I'm grateful for how far I've come today, and can't emphasize enough how thankful I am for all my teachers who inspire me and help me achieve my dream.
Also, I have recently started a non-profit organization with another musician aimed to help underprivileged children in the bay area. Please support our nonprofit or find out more by visiting our website at http://vivacemusic.weebly.com! Thank you!

I teach! I perform!
Teaching experience:
Over the summer, I teach beginners from ages 6- 70 traditional Chinese instruments at California Youth Chinese Symphony(CYCS). My dominant instruments are erhu and pipa. I am currently studying level 9 pipa player and level 10 erhu after only four years of playing each instrument receiving excellent scores during level testing for both instruments. I have recently started a non-profit organization with a fellow musician made to promote Chinese music, as well as raise money to teach underprivileged children the music I am so lucky to be involved with.
Performing experience:
I have performed with Beijing's top musicians at an international concert in San Francisco(check out some of my pictures!) and have played in countless performances both solo and with other musicians. I've also received first place for three years in a row in the international PIVD competition. I was a soloist in a music concerto during our annual CYCS concert in 2011. I have also planned musical entertainment for many events such as an Asian Pacific American Heritage Celebration, Chinese New Year celebration in Foster City, and more!
